PE & Sports
Physical Education (PE) at Stonehill goes far beyond participation in sports and games. It's primary aim is to encourage the development of intelligent performers who understand and appreciate the importance of a balanced lifestyle. Through the Primary and Middle Years programmes, students are encouraged to develop critical thinking,
reflect on their actions and make personal choices that will contribute to long-term healthy living.
Extending PE in the classroom to activities in the field, Stonehill provides its students multiple opportunities to develop skills in competitive team sports while learning the responsibilities and leadership qualities of team play. In addition, students are introduced to several indivudual sports and encouraged to develop proficiency in them. Through programmes such as the International Award (Duke of Edinburgh Award), Stonehill will encourage outdoor pursuits such as hiking, camping and orienteering.
Stonehill will have a comprehensive athletic facility that will be used to host inter-school team play in sports. In the first year, Stonehill will introduce junior teams in football, swimming, tennis and cricket. As the school grows, the programme will expand to include track & field, basketball, volleyball, rugby and field hockey.
